A Continuing Series of Explorations

Wednesday, March 3, 2004

Marshall Center, University of South Florida, Tampa Campus

On Wednesday, March 3, 2004, faculty, graduate teaching assistants, and administrators will again assemble at the University of South Florida to explore the teaching and learning applications of technology in higher education. Our ninth annual Symposium on 21st Century Teaching Technologies will showcase USF faculty and graduate teaching assistants who are using computers and other technology tools to enhance the teaching and learning process.

As in the past, the Symposium will encourage broader understanding of the potential benefits and challenges associated with technology use in higher education. This annual event is co-sponsored by the Center for 21st Century Teaching Excellence, Academic Computing, Educational Outreach, and Information Technologies.

The 2004 event will feature poster sessions, exclusively, and poster presenters will each be assigned tables at which to demonstrate the specific ways they have utilized technology to enhance instruction. Attendees will browse through a wide range of poster demonstrations and may converse individually or in small groups with faculty presenters. This year, poster presentations will run concurrently in multiple rooms for a three-hour period from 11:00 AM to 2:00 The Symposium will conclude with a keynote address from 2:15 to 3:30 PM.  The 2004 address will be delivered by Steven W. Gilbert, President of the internationally renowned Teaching, Learning, and Technology (TLT) Group.
