Symposium
on 21st Century Teaching Technologies:
A Continuing Series of Explorations
Wednesday, February 28, 2007 Marshall Center (CTR)
University of South Florida,
Tampa Campus
On Wednesday, February 28, 2007; faculty, graduate teaching assistants, and
administrators will again assemble at the University of South Florida
to explore the teaching and learning applications of technology in
higher education. Our 12th annual Symposium on 21st Century Teaching Technologies will
showcase USF faculty and graduate teaching assistants who are using
computers and other technology tools to enhance the teaching and learning
process.
As in the past, the Symposium will encourage broader understanding of
the potential benefits and challenges associated with technology use
in higher education. This annual event is co-sponsored by the Center
for 21st Century Teaching Excellence, Information Technologies, Academic Computing, and Educational
Outreach.
Multimedia Poster Presentations:
The 2007 event will feature multimedia poster sessions exclusively. Multimedia poster presenters will each
be assigned tables at which to demonstrate the specific ways they
have utilized technology to enhance instruction. Attendees will browse
through a wide range of multimedia poster demonstrations and may converse individually
or in small groups with faculty presenters. This year, multimedia poster presentations
will run concurrently in the Marshall Center for a five-hour period from
9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Keynote Address:
The Symposium will conclude with a keynote from 2:15 to 3:30 PM. We will learn about the 3D online world known as Second Life® as the Keynote illustrates how this virtual world can have a real impact in education.
